Strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats

The SWOT (i.e. Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats) analysis of social media as a tool in food risk and benefit communication is based on qualitative interviews conducted, as part of the FoodRisC project,  with stakeholders and experts in food risk and benefit communication from six European countries. Social media offers an approach to communicating which enforces many of the key principles of effective risk communication; however, use of social media as a communication tool is not without its challenges.
